What you can do

It is not always easy for us to confront the people we have entrusted with the well being of our children.  Public servants and elected officials are accountable to the parents and constituents of Fullerton.  Clamoring voices from the public will give rise to discussion and action from those whom we have entrusted with our children’s welfare.  We, as parents and members of the community, do not want to look back with regret that we did not participate on a level required to ensure the safety of our students.

Always know that you stand on solid ground, backed by numerous studies by Ph.D.s, M.D.s, and researchers, in demanding that the school hard wire the technology.  You can feel confident in your assertions.

If you prefer to e-mail here are some talking points you can cut and paste into your letter:

Subject:  Opt For Wired Technology in Fullerton School District

1)  I understand the Fullerton School District Board has received a letter from the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, dated May 13, 2013, imploring FSD to “not take the risk, with the health of so many children who have entrusted you to keep them safe while at school.”  The Academy “strongly supports the use of wired internet connections.”  This is one of many letters that are advising use of wired technologies.  Given the health risk to the children, I want Fullerton School District to opt for wired technologies.

2)  Numerous studies and research all come to the same conclusion, EMF (electro-magnetic frequency) radiation is not harmless.  All of the experts are telling the schools to opt for wired technology.  I want Fullerton School District to opt for wired technologies.

3)  I want wired technologies in the Fullerton School District.  Please read the letters from the following P.h.D.s, M.D.s and institutions that all say “opt for wired technologies” in schools (http://www.wifiinschools.com/lausd-testimony.html):

Dr.  Martha Herbert, Ph. D, M.D., Assistant Professor, Pediatric Neurology, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital. American Academy of Environmental Medicine. Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics. Dr. Magda Havas, B.Sc., Ph.D., Environmental & Resource  Studies, Trent University, ON, Canada. Karolinska Institutet, Department of Neuroscience, Stockholm. Joel Moscowitz, Ph. D, Director of Center for Family and Community Health, University of California, Berkeley. Devra Davis, Ph.D. MPH, Environmental Health Trust. Antoinette Stein, Ph.D., Environmental Health Trust.  Mary Beth Brangan, Co-director, Ecological Options Network.
