This came in to me last night from a concerned mother who has been watching on the sidelines and who has read up on this issue. I felt compelled to share this, as the sentiment contained here is shared by many who are now gaining the courage to speak on this issue.
We all care about our fellow human, that is certain. There are
so many good folks out there working tirelessly to do good
for the community. We are busy raising money through galas,
fund raisers, and reaching out for corporate sponsorships.
Everyone is saying “yes” we want to participate and help.
Our purpose is good . . . . . or IS it?
The FSD has in their plans an enormous expansion of WiFi-
enabled devices, one for each child’s hands. FSD believes
they are doing the best for the children, and the school and
community have gotten together to make this happen. Their
intentions are good.
But, what if FSD would actually look at the research and
studies that continue to grow. Even easier, just read the
letters from the following individuals and institutions
www.wifiinschools.com/lausd-testimony.html
Dr. Martha Herbert, Ph. D, M.D., Assistant Professor,
Pediatric Neurology, Harvard Medical School,
Massachusetts General Hospital.
American Academy of Environmental Medicine
Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons,
Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics
Dr. Magda Havas, B.Sc., Ph.D., Environmental & Resource
Studies, Trent University, ON, Canada
Karolinska Institutet, Department of Neuroscience,
Stockholm
Joel Moscowitz, Ph. D, Director of Center for Family and
Community Health, University of California, Berkeley
Devra Davis, Ph.D. MPH, Environmental Health Trust
Antoinette Stein, Ph.D., Environmental Health Trust
Mary Beth Brangan, Co-director, Ecological Options
Network
Please keep in mind that this is only a partial list.
Each of these researchers and institutions is saying the
same thing: opt for wired technologies. The ones who
have studied the effects of wifi are in a position to make this
statement. The effects of WiFi in schools IS HARMFUL.
It is truly amazing what we can do when we set our minds
to it. But, what if we find out in the process that, while our
intentions were good, the fruits of our labor are harmful to the
children? This is the case, FSD.
This is the information we are trying to get FSD to sit down
and look at. It is not complicated stuff. The research does,
however, make very clear that the FSD wifi technology plans
are harmful to our kids.
You have been silent too long, FSD. It is time to do the
responsible thing and look at this information. Make evident
that your concern and care for our children outweighs a
commitment to the wrong road.

As parents we owe it to our children to make a choice based on the facts and not hype. To the mom, I agree.

How can the school ignore this?

The district just keeps ignoring the wireless issue until enough parents wake up. Most people, outside of the tight cliques that are circling the wagons, still have never heard of this side of the story. We aim to successfully change that.
The district is in an indefensible position in light of the evidence of the potential dangers facing our children if this gets rammed through. Right now they have to make it seem like it is a privilege to go with WiFi and the WiFi enabled devices and ignore our position. Most of the administrators have degrees in some form of psychology, so they use it.
The FSD needs to simply do the right thing and hard wire the technology. Convenience is not worth the risk.

What happened to yesterday’s post?

What did you think of it?
#6 by Buxton on May 3, 2013 - 9:09 pm
My dad knows what he is talking about, but the experts know a lot more than he does. They all agree that the wireless classrooms are not safe. I think that the fact that they are ignoring this issue shows their lack of responsibility, courtesy and courage about a very important cause. Now I may only be a junior high student, but I think that even I am more intelligent than these people on the school board and the district members. I mean, how hard is it for a grown man/woman to respond to a normal email? Statistics show that the average person can respond to a text message in less than 5.47 seconds. As if emails would be any harder. There’s just one word to describe these people..

Learn from this son. These people are not leaders.

Thanks for this insightful link.
I understand why you are doing what you are doing. Ignoring the facts is no way to deal with a problem.

Yep, you are more intelligent, Buxton.

FSD: Got Character?????
“The character that takes command in moments of crucial choices has already been determined by a thousand other choices made earlier in seemingly unimportant moments. It has been determined by all the day-to-day decisions when life seemed easy and crises far away–the decisions that, piece by piece, bit by bit, developed habits of discipline or laziness; habits of self-sacrifice or self-indulgence; habits of duty and honor and integrity–or dishonor and shame.”

The leaders of the FSD-principals, administration, some teachers and the Board of Trustees have had almost 2 months to step up and address the concerns in writing that I presented that are set forth by experts like a doctor with a Harvard PHD in pediatric neurology who looks at brain scans all day for a living along with countless others. What have they done? Up to this point, they have chosen to not respond to my written requests for information and for written permission to measure emission levels in the FSD classrooms where my children attend. They have also apparently told their staff to ignore me as well based on how they behave when I attempt to present them with this information. One Acacia teacher told me that there might be a problem with his “superiors” if he accepted the handouts.
So my fourth grader at Acacia came home with a note yesterday about how the Wireless enabled Ipad program is EXPANDING NEXT YEAR in the fifth and sixth grades. Folks, they are moving right along with their agenda and ignoring the scientific evidence. This information we present to you is simply just getting in the way of their plans.

FSD: The Truth Is Stalking You
#14 by Veritas on May 4, 2013 - 1:42 pm
Beverly, Hilda,Janny, and Lynn,
How do you sleep at night? You are ignoring all this research that WiFi is harmful in schools. Do you have a conscience?
#15 by Joe Imbriano on May 4, 2013 - 2:11 pm
They sleep rather well. They must all be the products of the Prussian educational system. It has bestowed upon us, the by products that unwittingly propagate the 1 dimensional thinking, hence tablets without keyboards. We have cohesion in place of creativity, denial in place of objectivity, emotion and apathy instead of critical thinking, and placation instead of sincerity. It works like a charm for a top down system. I believe that explains their behavior.
The apparent disregard for the inconvenient truths and the silence on the real issues, like overcrowding, curriculum, and especially, the dangers of wireless technology that eerily fills the halls of academia, is staggering, and Fullerton is no exception. The parents in the FSD are still not awake. That is changing. This is going on all over the country. We are just exposing it in our hometown. This wireless stuff is bad news for the kids period, no matter how you slice it. Ask the experts who are not bought and paid for by the RF industry or connected to some ed industry entities that stand to make a boatload of money off of this stuff. The average person still has no clue as to what this stuff really is doing to everyone, much less the children.

Here’s a quote from the American Academy of Environmental Medicine:
“In September 2010, the Journal of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine – Fertility and Sterility reported that only four hours of exposure to a standard laptop using WiFi caused DNA damage to human sperm.”
“In October 2012, the AAEM issued a public warning about WiFi in schools that stated:
‘Adverse health effects from wireless radio frequency fields, such as learning disabilities, altered immune responses, and headaches, clearly exist and are well documented in the scientific literature. Safer technology, such as use of hard-wiring, is strongly recommended in schools.’
